PAPA MAIN GOVERNMENT SCHOOL ME NAHI PADHUNGI!

Remember Irrfan Khan? An extraordinary human and a prominent actor in the film industry, who we all dearly miss. A dialogue of his represented the harsh reality of the world.

“This headmaster isn’t a headmaster at all—she's a businessman. Education is no longer education; it’s a money-making scheme.”

Doesn't this describe today's corruption? The government schools that are unable to function efficiently. Have we not criticized them? Private schools are often preferred over government schools. Why? What is wrong with government schools? Frankly speaking, nothing at all!

Why is there still a difference between government and private schools? There are various factors. Lack of funds for local schools is challenging and further leads to many problems. The quality of education, the prime factor that affects admission rates, is considered better in private schools than in government schools.

Extracurricular activities, too, are often better in private schools. The infrastructure, poor teacher-student ratio, lack of trained teachers, and outdated curriculum are all disadvantages government school students and employees face. The root cause of all this is the lack of funds due to corruption. How corruption, you may ask?

Hence, a controversial topic is introduced. Capital is a vital asset for any institution to function efficiently. The capital set aside for the funding of government schools barely ever reaches its destination. The number of hands it passes through determines the number of times a part of it is deducted. Time after time, hands pass to another, and what's left of the funds is not enough to function a school. It's concerning how the funds dedicated to the education of the nation are unable to even reach the right hands.

Yet, just like how everything has both advantages and disadvantages, government schools too provide their students with some benefits. Government schools are quite affordable and often free to those unable to afford it. It makes an effort to provide free uniforms, books, midday meals, basic physical education, and sports facilities to its students. Government schools have the minimum infrastructure to fulfill basic needs. Government schools like Kendriya Vidhayalay and Navodaya Vidhayalay are the top schools in India that offer schooling with proper and basic facilities. Corruption cannot stop our nation from moving forward, it can only delay us.
