NURTURING DREAMS: OUR TIME WITH UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH

“Let us reach out to the children. Let us do whatever we can to support their fight to rise above their pain and suffering.” –Nelson Mandela

In September 2023, our team embarked on a remarkable mission to establish a connection with children who are underprivileged. This journey led us to the heart of the community filled with children who were eager to learn, dream, and break free of the shackles of limited opportunities.

We were greeted with warm smiles and curious gazes upon entering the Bironda Village in Greater Noida. Some appeared captivated while others seemed a bit apprehensive, yet the latter still had been beaming at us.

Playing and Bonding:

We began our interaction by playing ball together. The joy that erupted as we played transcended any language or cultural barriers. Their radiant smiles and infectious laughter left us captivated.

As we chatted with the children, we taught them basic English words. We were met with great enthusiasm from most, and the village was filled with eager minds ready to learn more. From “hello” to “thank you”, their eagerness to learn was awe-inspiring.

These children taught us the true meaning of friendship and compassion while we shared countless moments of laughter and joy.

Conversations with civilians and parents:

As we conversed with civilians, it became evident that access to education was a pressing issue. We shared our belief that quality education is a fundamental right for all. The civilians and parents were receptive to our perspective and agreed with us. We further discussed how Project Kitab aimed to provide quality education to those who require it the most. We believe that education, opportunities, and support are powerful tools that can empower children without privilege to achieve anything they set their minds to.

One of the most heartwarming moments that have been embedded in our hearts was when we had to say goodbye and the children called out to us, asking us to come back again, to teach them again, to remain friends with them.

In the end, our journey with underprivileged children in the Bironda village was a testament to the power of compassion, education, and human connection. We leave with hearts full of hope and feel determined to continue our mission to create a brighter future for all children.

Call to Action:

Project Kitab invites you to join us in creating a lasting change. As human beings, We ought to offer our assistance and support to those who need it the most and create equal opportunities for all.

All children have aspirations for a brighter future.

But regrettably, for many, these dreams remain dreams. They yearn for equal opportunities, fair treatment, and the chance to receive a quality education, which is rightfully theirs.

Yet, our world often denies them their basic rights. Their aspirations are stripped away, their ambitions are brushed off, their potential is overlooked, and their passion is mocked. Our necessities are their luxuries, our needs are their dreams, and what we overlook is what they long for.

How can we live in a world where education, a fundamental human right, remains elusive for so many children?

At Project Kitab, we aim to put an end to this cycle of injustice and transform their dreams into reality. We strive to reignite the shimmer of hope in their hearts. But as we highlighted in one of our previous blogs, providing quality education to unprivileged children is not just a moral aspiration, but an ethical imperative.
